Got pushed into a bathroom and locked up. The only time I get invited to a classmate's house I get locked in a bathroom. Even though it happened so long ago, it stills bothers me. Another bullying incident that occurred was while participating in team sports. We were driving in a van to an away game. My teammates put a sugary substance in my hair while I was still asleep. When I awoke, I had a sticky, sugary substance in my hair. I cried. The last incident I want to share is when I got a black eye as a young kid. First swing and he gave me a black eye. What makes it even more embarassing was the kid was younger than me. All these incidents happened at a private school. Upon reflection, I chose to validate myself by participating in "individualistic sports" and showing off; these only increased more fear with bullying and name calling. The thing is, the bullying didn't have to occur very often; the experiences still traumatize today. I was pretty mentally weak back then and it really could have made me snap. But thanks to a strong family and faith, these incidents only made me stronger.
